A Buffalo Plaid Northwoods Themed Nursery
When we were in the midst of painting our house, we have a room upstairs that is kind of like a landing area, not a bedroom. It was a room that I wanted to turn into a library and because of that, I envisioned the room being a hunter green color. So I painted it.
Then I got pregnant with our second child and I changed my mind on the library and decided I wanted to turn that little area into the cutest little nursery.
BUT I had no idea what the theme would be with the hunter green walls. So I did a little searching on Pinterest and came across a Northwoods theme with moose and bears and all things buffalo plaid and I immediately fell in love.
So now that my little one’s nursery is finished, I wanted to share my decorations with you!

Isn’t it the cutest!? The moose head and block letters came from hobby lobby.
I absolutely love the crib bedding. The brand is Trend Lab. The link provided includes a 5 piece set, including the crib skirt, fitted sheet, comforter, valance, and storage caddy. You’ll see all of the these items in the coming photos. Click the link to see the set. Trend Lab Northwoods 5 Piece Bedding
The crib is the DaVinci Autumn 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Chestnut. I really wanted to find a more masculine crib to go with these very out-doorsy theme and this one hit the nail on the head! I will say, you do have to be careful with the wood as it is very soft. Since this is the case, I will be making a rail cover to prevent teething marks!
The crib bumper is sold separately and can be found here, Trend Lab Northwoods Crib Bumper.
I made the signs using my Silhouette Cameo 3. I hope to get a post on that out soon!
And see this cute little moose chair!? My daughter has an elephant, so I had to have this one for my son! You can get this little guy at Trend Lab Children’s Plush Moose Character Chair.
And of course I had to have a little nook for rocking him to sleep. The Find Your Wild sign came from Hobby Lobby.
And check out this adorable bear rug! It really pulls the room together and adds a super cute realistic touch to the theme! You can check it out at Carstens, Inc Plush Black Bear Animal Rug.
Love the DIY banner? Simply get some twine, some pine cones, and strips of buffalo plaid fleece, and tie them all together! You’ll also notice the comforter that was mentioned at the beginning of this post, folded over the rocking chair. Next we will take a look at the cute hamper that you see at the right side of the picture above!
Super cute, and being that it is right outside of the bathroom that we use to bathe our babies, we use it everyday! You can get yours at Trend Lab Northwoods Hamper.
This is our changing station. Believe it or not, the cubes came from the Dollar Tree! You can find the diaper holder at Trend Lab Northwoods Diaper Stacker and the changing pad cover at Trend Lab Northwoods Changing Pad Cover, Buffalo Check.
The picture below is of the dresser. The wood framed mirror came from an auction and the bear hugging the letter “A” was a DIY project that anyone can make! The lamp shade you can get at Trend Lab Northwoods Lamp Shade.
You can get the bear sign at Don’t Wake The Bear Buffalo Plaid Wood Sign. The bottom two signs came from Hobby Lobby.
My little one is almost 11 months old and I still just get so happy when I walk into his buffalo plaid nursery.
It is just the cutest. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much and I enjoyed writing it!
What did you end up deciding on for your baby’s nursery? I’d love to hear from you!
And as always, Happy Home Sweet Home.
Love, Brittany
