Valentine’s Day Inspiration with a Winter Twist
Hey y’all! Time for another blog post! So, we have lived in our almost 100 year old house for officially five years now, and this is the first time I’ve decorated for Valentine’s Day!
I’m blaming it on the fact that I recently discovered the very addicting (and totally affordable) seasonal decor that comes out in the Target Bullseye’s Playground. It is VERY addictive and so cute!!!
Since I decorated Christmas in a red, green, and white color theme, I also though it would be relatively easy to leave out my red decor as an easy transition into Valentine’s Day. I also wanted to leave a slight “wintery” feel.
***I’ve included links to some of the items you will see in this post. Some of the links are my Amazon Affiliate links. If any products are purchased through those links, I will receive a small profit AT NO ADDITIONAL cost to you :). Thanks for supporting my blog.
The Dining Room.
I used napkin rings that came from Hobby Lobby. I love these because it keeps the “wintery” feel that I was going for.
Heart picks came from Walmart, and the snow balls came from Target’s Bulleye’s Playground!
The dough bowl you see above (I absolutely am in love with!) came from Pin It Co. And I actually think they still have some available. The extra large pine cones came from Hobby Lobby. The hearts that are laying within the dough bowl came from Walmart.
This sign was my latest project around the house and I am absolutely IN LOVE with it! I came across the inspiration from the Farmhouse Style Magazine and decided to make my own. I took a different approach than the Reverse Stencil and it actually turned out great. I’ll be posting on that soon! The little hearts on the sign can be changed out for the seasons! I’m hoping to find something to hang for Easter, stay tuned!
The Mantle.
The mantle includes many items from Target and a few from Marshall’s. The key here is to layer with many different levels and to add the greenery.
The little white house with the heart on it, is actually a ceramic house that I turned around and put a heart shaped chalk sticker on that I found from Target! You’ll see more of that in the pictures to follow. It really was a super cheap and easy way to add to the Valentine’s Day decor!
The Buffet Table.
My buffet table has become one of my favorite areas to decorate ever since I got a tiered tray. Again, the majority of items came from Target. The little smores mugs can be found here. I’ve seen little hats that some people will crochet for the little mugs that go with the seasons. My little hats are made out of socks!! (post to come!) Making the total cost for all four hats $1!!!!
The Kitchen.
If you’ve been following my blog, you’ve probably already seen my DIY Coffee Bar. It seriously is one of my favorite spots in our home. It has truly turned out beautifully and I love adding to it for each holiday. The coffee bar sign was made using the Reverse Stencil method. The greenery all came from Target Bulleye’s Playground. The shelf came from Hobby Lobby. The red and white checkered plaid table runner can be found here.
For my Rae Dunn canisters, I turned them around, and added those heart shaped chalk stickers. I also added those cute little wooden scoops using twine and I love love love them!
Here are those wooden scoops again! They are so adorable!
Our kitchen table, also turned out super cute. I’m loving the farmhouse look. Dough bowl candle is from Pin It Co. Greenery and garland are from Target’s Bulleye’s Playground, as well as those cute heart stickers. Table runner is the same as before and can be found here.
And that’s a wrap! Did you decorate for Valentine’s Day or do a “wintery” theme? Or did you throw your hands up and say “I’m not bothering myself with more decorating? Haha! That was definitely me last year! I hope you enjoyed this post. See you soon!
Happy Home Sweet Home,
Love, Brittany
Loving is Pinning!
